One at a Time
June 6, San Diego - Over the last 26 games the Diamondbacks have not dramatically improved their winning percentage in comparison to their first 29 (.414 first 29, .462 next 26). Time will tell if that will change, here's hoping for all of us that the small growth leads to bigger things and winning baseball.

But one area where there has been noticeable change is at the plate. The "one run at a time" approach brought by Jack Howell and A.J. Hinch appears to be making an impact in most instances. Here are the numbers and they include National League ranking during that time frame.
April 6-May 7
.222 (last)/.296 (last)/.381 (15th), .677 OPS (15th), 3.6 runs/game (last), .186 RISP (last)
May 8-June 5
.264 (7th)/.336 (6th)/.421 (4th), .757 OPS (4th), 4.9 runs/game (3rd), .267 RISP (7th)
See you at the yard...and have a great summer!

Another 0 for 4 game. Hard to win when Chris Young uses 4 outs, thats one and a third innings for himself to make four outs.
When will he be sent to the minors to get his head right? .170 AVE is killing the team and he never gets dirty. His lack of effort is infecting the rest of the team. Leads the Majors in pop-outs.

An email sent to the DBacks:
Hustle
Could someone explain to Felipe Lopez that it doesn't take ANY talent to hustle?
He may have a good glove and a good stick, but when he came up to bat in the bottom of the 8th and damn near crawled his way to first base I WAS SCREAMING!!!
Conor Jackson 2 years ago had what seemed like a lackadaisical attitude. He would hardly get out of the batters box on what would normally be a 'bread and butter' play for an easy out - and it cost his team some runs.
Last year, Conor was on fire and I loved his attitude change. He hustled on EVERY PLAY and his year showed his work ethic.
So what is Felipe's excuse? Are there not hundreds of AA and AAA players that would give their left testicle to play in the Show?
Would someone *PLEASE* rip Lopez a new one and get him to move his butt when he hits the ball?
IT TAKES ZERO TALENT TO HUSTLE!!! It just takes having pride and guts - something that Lopez didn't show today when coming into a game for a team that has lost 21 games at home.

I'm listening to Gracie and Daron talking about a convicted pedifile and it makes me sick that they forget about the children he molested. It's hard to believe we have no more morals in this country to idolize this man.

Daron, Daron, Daron.......
I used to despise Hawk Harrelson, but Steve Stone can make even him sound good. And listening to them together, make me realize how you and Gracie pale by comparison.
Contrary to what you and your production staff believe, we do not turn on your broadcast to listen to your comedy act and schtick with Gracie. We actually tune in to watch that poor excuse of a baseball team. Now I understand the need you feel to enliven a broadcast that features a pathetic product, however the combination of you, Gracie, AND the DBacks is must switch TV.
Please stop calling one another and the players by first and last name. We know who you are!
Does that make sense, Daron Sutton?
Oh, and "by the way", we know, by now that you were a "former pitcher".
I could go on and on, but I won't. Just enough of the comedy act with you two already. The fans deserve a broadcast team that lends dignity to the game, not a duo who obviously feels that you two are "the straw that stirs the drink".
I will give you credit. You know the game, but it gets lost in all of idiotic banter that IMHO makes the two of you the laughing stock among many baseball fans.
I do realize that you have your fans, so you'll continue your Heckle and Jeckle routine, I'm sure, but count me one among many who is really tired of it.

I grew up in Tucson Arizona, and I was a Cleveland Indians fan( and I still like them), because they did their spring training there, and we didn't have a team in Arizona. When I got older, I became a L.A. dodgers fan wanting to root for a west coast team. When we finally got a team in Arizona, I became a D-Backs fan, and they did it right by having spring training in Tucson and Have a Stadium in Phoenix. That helped the whole state root for them because we felt like we are all a part of the team. They also went to some of the other cities to meet fans (that was too cool). In 2001 we won the World Series I even have an autographed ball from the event. Then the next thing you know, our colors got changed and it still drives me crazy!!! How do you change a teams colors!!! That's nuts!! I know, get over it. With all of the personel changes we keep doing it's tough to watch them. Gonzales, Johnson, Counsel, Val Verde et al. I know some times you have to make some changes, but some of those guys should have finished their careers with us. I'll stop whining now, but I miss our old D-Backs ways.
Go Purple Black and Teal!!

I grew up In Tucson AZ too and I still live here. We've lost the Sidewinders to Reno and now we've lost Spring Training to Scottsdale. This really blows. I'm not blaming any one individual for this as I know economics and unmotivated County and City governments played a big role in these decisions as well. But I would like somebody in the D'Backs Head Office to know that for whatever reason, this D'Backs' fan is pretty bent. Tucson's Mayor and Council as well as the Pima Co. Board of Supervisors will hear of my displeasure the next time I vote.
